Upgrading to 6.0 and restoring IPKG, re-installing Bittorent Sync

  • Use admin to login instead of root and use "sudo su -" to become root
  • Restoring IPKG
    • Adapting /root/.profile no longer seems to be needed
    • /etc/rc.optware start
    • Add to /etc/profile: PATH=/opt/bin:/opt/sbin:$PATH
    • chmod 0755 /etc/profile
    • reboot
    • Check if everything works again (e.g. crontab -e)
    • ipkg update

Example /opt/etc/rsnapshot.conf settings (use tabs not spaces, check with rsnapshot configtest):

How the excellent Synology support fixed my NAS when reshape went wrong:
